Search Engine Advertising
Being happy with the look and feel of your
website is a good start, but it all too often overlooked or
forgotten is the fact that you can have the best website in
the world, but if no-one knows of its existance, then the visitors
will not come. We always ask of your plans for advertising strategies,
both online and offline.
For offline marketing we reccommend that you
consider the following:
- Make sure that your web address is printed on all stationary,
corporate clothing, merchandise and vehicles
- Are you selling your products or services locally, nationally
or globally?
- Advertise in local/national publications
- Are there any websites that you can share a link with to
promote your website?
For online marketing you can either advertise by buying advert
space on other websites or by registering your website with
various directories and promoting your website in the search
engines.
Natural Listings
If you are serious about your online presence
then being on page one of the major search engines is a must.
The natural search listings are the numbered
results that appear aligned to the left of the page when searching
using Google, Yahoo, MSN and all major search engines.
In our experience, when a search engine is
used, people generally tend only look at the results obtained
on the first page returned by the search engine results pages
(SERP), which means you will be rewarded if you are able to
get placed on this page.
There are many factors that determine which
websites appear on page one of the SERP's and therefore this
is something that does not happen overnight with the natural
listings.
If an optimisation campaign is to be started
on the search engines, we reccommend a minimum of six months
optimisation. The time taken to see results will depend on the
popularity of your chosen keywords.
Stick with it. It will be worth it!
Sponsored Listings (Pay-Per-Click)
Sponsored listings can give you the same results
as the natural listings as they can place you on page one of
the search engine results pages (SERPs).
The difference is the sponsored listings are
displayed above and also to the right of the natural listings
on the Google search engine, but are not numbered.
The sponsored listings work on a bidding structure
for your chosen keywords, known as Pay-Per-Click advertising.
Simply decide what amount you would like to
spend on a monthly basis and we will set up your Pay-Per-Click
campaign from £50 (one-off setup fee), with the Google
Search Engine using Google Adwords.
Monthly charges are purely based on clicks
from the search engines. If you do not receive as many as expected
you pay less. If you receive more clicks than anticipated you
can either increase your monthly budget to accommodate this
change or your account will be temporarily set to offline until
the next day so that the search engine does not show your results.
The next day you will appear top of the search engines results
again.
